SCENES THAT MADE US

a solo exhibit by Bryan Yabut

In Scenes That Made Us, pop artist Bryan Yabut takes us on a vibrant journey through the movies and moments that helped shape who we are today. At the center of this playful series is Snoopy — the beloved beagle transformed into an everyman figure, standing in for all of us as we relive the iconic scenes that formed our imaginations.

Through Yabut’s signature bold lines, bright colors, and joyful layering of imagery, Snoopy becomes the star of some of cinema’s most memorable moments: gliding through the streets of Rome in Roman Holiday, riding atop the mischievous Herbie the Love Bug, or swimming alongside the lovable characters from Finding Nemo. Each piece is a love letter to the stories that captured our hearts and sparked our sense of wonder.

This exhibition isn’t just about movie nostalgia — it’s about the personal stories these films inspired. The movies we loved as children and young adults left lasting impressions, teaching us about bravery, love, humor, resilience, and friendship. In placing Snoopy in these timeless scenes, Yabut reminds us how deeply these cultural moments become part of our own stories.

Scenes That Made Us celebrates the universal language of film and its power to shape memory, identity, and connection. Through the eyes of Snoopy, Yabut invites us to reflect on the movies that made us laugh, cry, dream — and ultimately, become who we are.
